Rocky View Council has scheduled a special Council meeting for this Monday, February 8th at 9:00 a.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB).
As we have recently reported, the Board has released proposed growth maps for the region which will see most of Rocky View lands sterilized for potential growth.
During Monday’s meeting, there will be a public presentation of the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board’s draft Growth and Servicing Plan from the San Francisco based consulting firm who was hired to draft the plan.
The public cannot ask questions during the meeting, but we can view the virtual meeting by clicking on the following link:
Please contact your area Councillor and reiterate the importance of this issue. It is imperative that the UCP deal with this issue and not allow this Calgary controlled Board to dictate the future of Rocky View County and the other rural municipalities.
Please do your best to watch the meeting and remember to contact Municipal Affairs Minister Rick McIver to communicate your concerns. The Minister can be reached at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
