Alberta Transportation officials provided Rocky View County Councillors an update this week, on the status of the proposed Springbank reservoir.
It was clear that these Government of Alberta officials did not have answers to the key questions surrounding this project. They could not provide details on cost, timeline, land compensation or alternative projects.
What is becoming abundantly clear is the Government of Alberta is steaming ahead with this project, toppling the rights of landowners, without any consideration for a better flood mitigation option at McLean Creek.
Rocky View 2020 we will continue to work with landowners to draw attention to the Government’s ill-advised plan and push them for factual details, which they still aren’t providing.
Both Councillor Eric Lowther and Reeve Greg Boehlke asked very good questions at the meeting and are quoted in this Calgary Herald story. We are posting the link for your review.
