Municipal Development Plan (MDP) Tabled by Council
A bit of a surprise turn of events at today’s meeting for the MDP.
Rocky View County Council narrowly voted to table the MDP until late April to allow for more consultation with First Nations and the City of Calgary. The Councillor amendments were all dealt with and it was during administration’s proposed amendments that the tabling motion was presented. Voting in favour of tabling was Councillors Wright, Hanson and Kissel, along with Reeve Henn and Councillor Kamachi. Councillors Boehlke, Schule, Gautreau and Deputy Reeve McKylor were opposed. So, the MDP will come back to Council for further deliberation and discussion on April 27th. If you would like to review the discussion to this point, you can do so by clicking on the following link:
If the MDP is given Second Reading by Council, it will have to go to the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB) for approval. We will continue to follow the process and let you know what happens at the next meeting in April.
